SMUD Home of the Future
The Sacramento Municipal Utility District (SMUD) and GreenBuilt Construction have partnered to create the future of homebuilding in the region. The project consists of building homes that:

	Have zero net peak electric demand (producing as much electricity as they consume between 4:00pm and 7:00pm)
	Use 80% less energy (electric & gas) than the typical California code built home
	Attain LEED Platinum
	Meet the first three goals using technologies that can easily be incorporated by the production home building industry of California

GreenBuilt is building a 2000 sq. ft. home designed to meet the following goals: operate at a net energy consumption of zero (at peak energy usage times); operate 80% better than Title 24 Energy Guidelines; and qualify for LEED for Homes Platinum rating.
