Field Project ManagerOriginally from Grass Valley, CA, Neil Thomson received his Bachelor’s of Art in Human Environmental Technology from Humboldt State University. Neil’s studies were motivated by a desire to better understand the relationship between man and his environment. In particular, Neil focused on the interplay between political systems and natural systems and came away with a belief that humans can co-exist harmoniously with the natural world. Following graduation, Neil spent time constructing straw and clay homes in New Mexico before hopping on his bike to ride cross-country from New Mexico to Washington DC to Boston. For four years in Boston, Neil refined his skills working for various trades people and a cooperatively-owned construction company where he solidified his belief in green construction practices. Heading south to the North Carolina woods, Neil spent the next three years in working for a timber framing company and rebuilding a farm house originally constructed in the early 1900s. Back in California, Neil found a perfect fit in GreenBuilt Construction. As he puts it, GreenBuilt’s philosophy represents an extension of the way he lives his life outside of work. “Things worth doing are worth doing well.” Neil lives and works Green and is a valued member of the GreenBuilt Team. |
