LEED Project CoordinatorKaty Nicholls grew up in northern California and Oregon and studied environmental biology at the University of San Diego. After working at the Nature Conservancy in San Diego for a year and a half she moved up to Sacramento and started with GreenBuilt Construction. With so many buildings in existence and so many more going up, Katy saw that we have a huge opportunity to improve construction and operational efficiencies, not to mention land and community planning for smart development. Further, she saw green building as the best application of her environmental ideology. Katy is a LEED AP, Certified Green Point Rater, HERS rater and GreenPoint Rater. She helped start the consulting arm of GreenBuilt and now takes projects through the LEED certification process. Current projects include a 35 unit high density infill residential project in West Sacramento, a combo restaurant/retail project in Midtown, and about 200 production homes in the bay area. She also takes an active role in the USGBC Northern California Chapter’s Emerging Green Builders and volunteers for the Environmental Council of Sacramento. Read Katy's professional resume. |
